The overall project objective is to strengthen the incubation and startup ecosystem in Ludhiana. The project aims.
- To roll out innovation enabling services for startups (such as startup bootcamps, consultancy services, coworking space etc.)
- To facilitate and organise information and knowledge dissemination programme on startup promotion
- To develop and conduct trainings for start-ups (on aspects of business model development, design thinking, legal and financial, pitch preparation etc)
- To develop linkages and tie-ups with relevant stakeholders (incubators, investors, mentors etc) nationally/ internationally
Project Activities
Through our Incubation Centre, we would undertake the following aimed towards strengthening the incubation and startup ecosystem in Ludhiana and support startups/ incubatees in their growth towards becoming successful enterprises.
a) Conduct Information and awareness programmes on startup promotion
One of the first and most important activities would be to create awareness about the Incubation Centre, and the services and activities of the Incubation Centre. Awareness programs would help to reach out to startups that require incubation support and could benefit from the service offerings of the Incubation Centre.
Awareness programmes/ camps/ events would be organised in select colleges and academic institutions in and around Ludhiana. We would share information about the Incubation Centre, the services offered to incubatees, selection process etc to all students/ participants. In addition, programs/ events for information & knowledge sharing on basics of startup in terms of formation, growth, support programmes etc would also be organised. We would mobilize students/ startups/ entrepreneurs for participation in these events. Also, information documents such as fliers, presentations, brochures etc would be prepared to be shared with the participants

Organize Startup Boot Camps
The Incubation Centre would organise regular boot camps for startups, that would aim at supporting participating startups/ individuals to strengthen their business ideas. The Boot Camp will cover a specific theme, decided on the basis of requirements, such as business planning, marketing & competitive strategies, design thinking, etc. Qualified technical expert would be engaged (if not available in house) for conducting the boot camp.

C. Training & Capacity Building of Incubatees
In order to address the training and capacity building needs of Incubates, regular training programs/ workshops etc would be organised. Business strategy and managerial aspects needs of the startups would be identified and training programs would be planning accordingly.
These programs would be conducted in small batches so as to ensure intensive training experience for each participant. The business topics would be in the areas such as financial modelling, IPRs, legal process & requirements, project pitch preparation etc. Trainings would be conducted by experienced technical professionals and training material would be provided to all participants

d) Technical Skill Training of start-ups/ SMEs
CTR has been conducting multiple long term and short term training programs. The Short-Term courses address various topics in the field of Tool Engineering. Now they are mostly dealing with CNC programming and machining as well as CAD/CAM. CTR has ultra modern, state-of-art Tool Room machines under single roof. It is an ideal Tool Room & Die Technology. The wide spectrum of sophisticated machines include all latest and advanced machines, which can cater to various requirements of the industries.
Under this project, we would undertake skill training programme for startups/ SMEs. The training programs would be customised as per the requirements of the MSMEs & startups in the region. The institute has enough infrastructure, latest training methodologies and well as trained faculty to ensure best quality of training.

e) Create and Coordinate Regional Network of Incubators
The Incubation Centre would work towards creation of a regional network for incubation. We would work towards identification of other incubators, academic institutions, individuals, research institutions, investors and financial institutions in the region, and organise discussion and meetings to address common concerns and topics for innovation promotion and startup facilitation. We would also help our Incubatees access other stakeholders such as financial institutions, technology service providers etc.
